Imegen’s international business managers, Benigno Neira, PharmD, and Sami Azrak, PhD, and our R&D project coordinator, Carlos Mackintosh, PhD, represented the company at MEDICA 2016 in Dusseldorf, the world’s largest medical event.
From Monday 14th to Thursday 17th our international delegation presented our latest genetics and molecular diagnostics products and services.
“Our participation in MEDICA has been very satisfying. QUIMERA and NextGeneDx NGS kits received wide interest from various global companies and laboratories. We received a big number of visitors at our booth and established important collaboration and distribution agreements”, commented Benigno Neira, our LATAM international business manager.
“We presented our latest product: QUIMERA digital PCR kit and received great interest and feedback from the audience. With QUIMERA digital we opt for maximum precision, great sensitivity, and absolute quantification without the 25% error associated with conventional methods like quantitative PCR or STR analysis. This cutting-edge product facilitates early detection of a possible relapse in transplant patients and enables a much earlier intervention”, explained Sami Azrak, our MENA region and Asia Pacific international business manager.
Carlos Mackintosh, our R&D coordinator, commented on Imegen’s participation in the show: «This 2016 Medica meeting has been highly productive to our R&D projects as we established exciting new collaborations with key international partners».
MEDICA receives every year around 135.000 visitors from around the world including Europe, North America, Latin America, Middle East, and Asia.
MEDICA is the world’s largest event for the medical sector. For more than 40 years it has been firmly pointed on every expert’s calendar.
In addition to the professional trade fair our «MEDICA Conferences and Forums» have become an integral part of the trade fair: the MEDICA EDUCATION CONFERENCE (the largest interdisciplinary forum in Germany), the German Hospital Conference (the leading communication platform for decision-makers in German hospitals), the EUROPEAN HOSPITAL CONFERENCE (EHC) taking place every second year, the MEDICA MEDICINE + SPORTS CONFERENCE, the MEDICA PHYSIO CONFERENCE and the International Conference on Disaster and Military Medicine (DiMiMED).
Five forums and several specialized shows on varies medical-technological topics are presented in the halls as an attractive complement to the trade fair. Medica is clearly structured, because the hall layout is based on the thematic focal point on the trade fair: Electromedicine; Medical technology; Information and communication technology; Physiotherapy, orthopaedic equipment; Disposables, commodities and consumer goods and Laboratory equipment, diagnosis.
